The abused person must forgive the past,
never forget who he is in Christ,
and keep a good attitude in spite of the abuse.
Joseph kept a good attitude and even excelled under these circumstances. In every situation, he chose to do his very best in spite of how he had been treated. Joseph’s name means “increaser.” Those who are careful to keep a good attitude increase in life rather than get run over by it. Joseph resisted choosing a lifestyle designed to solely protect himself from further abuse. He chose to take full responsibility for his part of every relationship and trusted God for his protection.
Dear abused survivors, victors and friends,
I am glad and wish we can celebrate the days of our recovery. There is nothing to be ashamed of because this can happen to everyone, every age, gender, status, rich or poor. The best way is to expose the abuses and get healed. Even shames are common for all kind of abuses you have taken and endure so long, but you are not the victims to put all the shames that the abusers trying to put heavily on your shoulders. Abusers are the ones who have problems and needed to be fixed, not you. Stop being codependents, allow and enable continue to abuse you. Go, tell someones you trust and ask for helps. You cannot fight this fierce battle alone, you need God and a good team of compassionate people to help you stand strong again. Ask God to help you attack the abuses, but not abusers. God love you no less than your abusers. Pray that the abusers will change and have the mind of Christ, gradually realize what they have done are absolutely wrong and need to repent from all their wicked ways. Stop blaming yourselves, stand up, get helps and get healed!
